Nice work!

thanks!

This looks nice. I liked the first game, limited as it was. This looks like it'll be pretty good as well.

Their were two things in the first one that bothered me. The first was that the game was beatable without having to work one's way up even a single skill tree completely. The second was that it was pointless to mix investment in multiple skill trees, which I think would have added to the game more despite it being so short. I'll give an example. If you wanted a healer in the first one, you had to devote a character entirely to being a healer and have it sacrifice most of the offense. There was no dual specialty or hybrid option to get some of both, and the game was short enough where it really didn't matter much. It made it a bit tedious.

However, you could argue that was nitpicking as it was fun and fairly well polished considering everything. I did love the characters and their abilities (or potential abilities depending on what you invested in) fit well. And the story was entertaining as simple and short as it was. I am hoping that this game will be a bit bigger/more complex, and it looks like it is going to be. Hopefully, it will also iron out my nitpicking.

All in all, I like the direction the sequel is going in. I'll be sure to play it.

Thanks! I will try to answer some of your concerns...

There are now 6 classes in the game. There are two solutions I implemented for the skill tree problem.

- I made it so that the higher parts of the tree cost more.

- I have added locks to the trees and you can unlock them based on your progress. You can blaze through the game and just concentrate on one class (it will be harder). If you choose to take it slower and kill a lot of enemies, you can fill the tree up to the lock. You will then have to choose to save the points for the next unlock, or fill up a different tree. This prevents rushing up a tree (making the game too easy).

Love the look of the areas. The multiple places to go will definitely make things nicer to look at/play through. :) Saw your response to GodOfFate, and think that those skill tree ideas will Really change gameplay. 6 Classes! sounds like Lots of replay ability there. :) Sounds like CS2 will be a Huge improvement over the already good CS1. Something I commented on in the battle system thread that I am curious/concerned about is how much more the speed attribute will play into battles...I made an effort on CS1 to have a speed character one time (level 23-24ish speed 90+) but the speed didn't seem to make a difference.. :( will it make more difference this time?

I think it'll be more of the same. The difference is you cannot see it on the first game. Different skills have different delays. Like for example, Item usage only takes 2 time bars while a normal attack takes 3 time bars. A normal magic attack takes 4 bars, while omnislash i think takes 6? I forgot. The time bar will pretty much show how long the setback a skill will take. Speed will determine how fast the player will recover from an action.

Also, different classes have different speed attributes. Thieves should pretty much be about 1.5(?) times faster than a mage.
