Posted by Lan14n - October 8th, 2011

Edit: It's out now
Crystal Story Mobile

Hey!

I just finished a mobile friendly version of my game. Can anyone with an android phone help me test it?

the link:
-deleted-

I just want to see if everything works correctly. Even saves.

Some notes:
- To full screen the game, press the game area until you see a box appear in the top left corner of the screen. Click the box to toggle fullscreen.
- Clearing cookies and cache of the browser will delete the save data.

thanks!

If I had an android phone myself I would, but I don't sorry. :3 Everyone in this house has one but me because I am to lame to join the club.

lol. thanks anyway.

I have an android and im testing it now! I found no glitches so far so good job!

Cool! What phone do you have?

Gonna try it and it tell you what's up!

Thanks. Will you also let me know what phone you are using|?

Well, I could test it out. But I see it's a SWF. Im packed up with droids (even 3 different models) Im sure it would run on the Samsung Galaxy S since it supports flash. But any other older model from samsung or other droid compatable device which doesnt support flash might not run this : (

I think only the phones that have a flash+browser can play this. I don't know anything about older models.

Well the game is good, smooth animation. The buttons were a bit unresponsive. But the game worked! Most importantly, the buttons were big enough to be pressed with comfort.

The unresponsiveness might be due to lag. I'll see what i can do.

so this is gonna be for the ipod touch and iphone?

iphone doesn't have flash :(

I have a Samsung Galaxy S2. Tested the game with Opera with Flash 11

thanks!

... If only iPhones had flash.

I hope they change their mind in the future.

there is a option at the new project page on Flash to start a iOS project using AIR which i believe is the Port for the Iphone/Ipod touch/Ipad i watched a few video on youtube and it seems it works but i dunno depends on how will it does i guess but in order to make it you need a Apple dev license so might not be worth the $100 for a year unless you know exactly what your doing.

but going by the youtube vids i seen apparently it is possible for ppl to port there project over but it would need work done on it and it has to be in AS3
and if its really graphically intense it might lag.

i haven't tested this out its just something i came across when looking for tutorials since i'm getting back into Flash after a 3 year break

I actually tried that for a standalone app for android. It has compatibility issues and produces errors that i'm not getting on a normal web flash. It also keeps exiting the game from time to time. I don't know what is causing it.

Heh. Android again... like there's something wrong with flash lite ;).

sadly my android phone does not have flash capabilities. its kind of funny, when i first started playing this game i was hoping for a portable version that i can home brew to play on my phone or ds. but not many flash authors like to do it as much as I would like

Hi.

I really enjoy Crystal Story.
I've been playing it for a couple of weeks now.
One suggestion: Make it so items in the inventory can be sold easier. It's a drag selling the sucky rings when you have to scroll down 11 pages each time to sell one.
Also, selling repeated items on a subsequent page of the inventory is also a drag. If I have 35 eyedrops I want to sell, I have to scroll down to the eyedrops 35 times to sell them one by one. That's really annoying.

good work with the game, though. It's pretty entertaining.
